Things to do in Brighton
3:10:00 AM
Brighton is a popular seaside resort and picturesque city on the
south coast of England in the county of East Sussex and almost immediately due
south of the capital city London. The city is convenient to London, and is quite
trendy with media and music types who don’t want to live in the capital. For
this reason, it is sometimes called "London-by-the-Sea" So what are interesting
things to do in the Brighton city?
The Palace Pier
The Palace Pier is also known as Brighton Pier has
all popular seafront arcade attractions. There is also the wreck of West Pier
which was in ruins for sometime before finally going up in the flames recently.
As Brighton Pier is all owned by the same company, you can’t shop around for
bargains on it; however, this actually means that is has forced off warnings to
close it. The pier is well-situated at the
foot Grand Parade, south of the Old Steine. Be careful the pier security often
uses extreme force against customers as well as hiding their security licenses.
Brighton Beach
In
summer, the pebbled beach is crowded with tourists and Brightonians alike. Poi
twirlers strike a stunning image against the sunsets, and flaming lanterns are
launched into the air on summer evenings. To the east of Brighton, there is a
designated nudist beach. The pebbled beach gives way to a flat sandy seabed
just below mid tide line, so prefer to swim the low tide and avoid the painful
feet. Just beyond the Marina is an area for surfers. Fishermen cast their rods
from the Marina or by the giant doughnut.
Brighton
is exclusively renowned for its brilliant restaurants. Due to its close
proximity to the sea, you can obviously expect sea food to be a fairly major
part of many restaurants menus in the area. There are many fine Italian,
Indonesian & Malaysian restaurants in Brighton in addition to traditional
British cuisine. The finest restaurants in Brighton include some of the best in
the country, so if you want something delightful to eat by the seaside,
Brighton is a very fantastic choice.
The Old Steine
The
pride and joy of Brighton's 'floral gateway', the Old Steine features a
rotating medley of flowerbeds, a fountain, and cafe. During the Brighton Fringe
Festival (in May), there is often a large outdoor exhibition where performances
take place.
